Agenda Announcement

Hello Sci04

I hope everyone is enjoying summer (or winter if you are south of the equator).  This email is a friendly reminder to get ready for homecoming and to answer any questions.  All information can be found on our blog page (http://sci04.blogspot.ca/index.html).   Please feel free to email us if you have any further questions or suggestions.

Accomodations:

Sci04 has fully booked our allocation at the Best Western Fireside Inn & Conference Center reserved by the university.  The university has provided a Google link that lists the hotel/inn/B&B/etc. options in and around Kingston: https://goo.gl/maps/U0mJ4. Chatting with past years there is also some out-of-the-box options, like cabins/lodges, even RVs rented and brought somewhere like Lake Ontario Park.  As early as this morning the committee was able to find hotel rooms available at the Travelodge.  Please let us know if you are having any difficulty and we will help you out as best we can.

Activities for the weekend.

Here is the plan for the weekend

Friday - October 17
12 - 6pm - RITUAL AT CLARK HALL PUB.  No explanation needed. We have received confirmation that the patio will be open for increased capacity.

8-2am - MERCHANT TAPHOUSE SCI04 GET TOGETHER.  We have reserved space at the Merchant Taphouse on Princess (http://www.merchanttaphouse.com/home - near the holiday inn by the water).  For those still going from ritual or arriving onto town later this is a central meeting place to grab a drink and discuss which poutine location to raid (bonus points for considering King of Donair)

Saturday - October 18

10 - 1pm - BREAKFAST KEGGER - We will be organizing a breakfast kegger in a student housing backyard.  New twist on this year, instead of poorly made pancakes we have secured a food truck that will provide an amazing set price menu plus extras for cash (breakfast poutine anyone?).  There will be the regular keg/purple jesus/etc.  We will look into providing alternative drink choices as well.  All costs will be part of the package price.

1pm - HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME - Game starts at 1pm, tickets go on sale in mid-august.  We will have information on purchase shortly.

Post game - Party Night.  Feel free to relive your glorious past.  We have reserve space until at the Brass for those that want a central starting point.

SUNDAY
Return to home/kids/space program/etc.

Homecoming package:

We will be setting up payment for homecoming packages shortly.  The package will include a sweet sci04 toque, access to the breakfast kegger, homecoming game ticket and donation to our class gift.  After all the costs have been covered the remaining proceeds will be donated to our class gift.  We are estimating $75 each for the whole weekend.

Volunteer:

If anyone wants to help us out we would greatly appreciate it. Who knew having a job, kids, life, party would occupy so much of our time :S

See you all soon

Kick Off Anouncement

Hello Sci04

Can everyone please turn up their hearing device, I have an important announcement to make before Bingo.  Our 10 year reunion is upon us this Fall and we wanted to get the word out!  It is true, this October 17th, 2014 we will be celebrating 10 years since we left Queen's and entered the "real" world!

We will just assume you that you are interested and move right into what you need to do now, and in the near future.  There is still some organizing that needs to be completed but the first steps are done.  The last reunion organizing committee is happy to help organize again but would really love some support so if you are interested write back to any of us (seriously, please help John Mould is now an actual gold statue and useless).

What do YOU need to do first?
1) Write back to this email and indicate you are interested and the best contact email we can reach you at
2) Let us know if you want to help out with organizing in any way
3) Indicate if you have a significant other joining you so we can ensure there is enough pancakes and beer for everyone
4) Contact the Best Western Fireside to book a room in a block of rooms that Queen's has reserved for us.  The booking can be made under "Science 04".  There are limited rooms to start but we can add more as people book them up, but don't delay because other years are doing the same!
5)  Book off the weekend (and Friday) in your calendar
6) Start looking for your GPA
7) Check our the website where all the important party information will be located (sci04.blogspot.ca
8) Forward on this email to everyone you can think of in our year to make sure we reach as many people in our year as possible.

We will be circulating a schedule and tickets in the near future along with updating the website with all the information for everyone.

If you have ANY questions, comments or ideas please don't hesitate to contact us!

Very excited to see everyone
